I love these cameras but having a really hard time with Kine costumer service. I had an accident on a shoot and had to get my sensor replaced on Terra 4k. Since the camera has been returned with new sensor installed I am having a lot more noise issues and what appears to be data lines in the darker areas of my frame when…[Read more]
I own a set of Kinetal primes and they have an Arri S mount. I’m thinking about using this ( https://www.rafcamera.com/adapter-arri-s-to-arri-pl ) to use them on the MAVO S35 with the PL mount.
Did anybody with the Mavo S35 tested this specific combo?
Please let me know if you have a different solution. Thanks a lot in advance for your help……[Read more]
i recently bought a Mavo 6k Basic Bundle with KineEnhancer in Melbourne and have a few thoughts on it. i’ve been trying to get my Sigma 18-35mm Art Lens to work on the EF mount for my Mavo, however i can’t seem to control the IRIS at all. no Value shows up on the side panel and i have enhanced activated in the Active Mount menu.
i’m just…[Read more]
i’m in the market for a new camera to step up the quality of my work. I do shoot all sorts of stuff but mostly documentaries with a cinematic touch, making of’s, fashion and corporate. I would like to have one camera that can do it all and after checking current models on the market the Terra 4k seems like a good match for me and my sty…[Read more]
– FINAL UPDATE – just got some closure from Kinefinity. The banding issue is actually a known issue of the Prores422 codec and has nothing to do with Kinefinity. If you want to avoid it you should shoot at Prores4444 (or ofc KineRaw). We’ve done a test at ProRes 4444 6K and the banding was only visible on the KineMon not on a big monitor.…[Read more]
Ok Gaulbert, let me see what I can do next. I already did this one before you replied, at 1st I thought it was gone but when I changed the shot & used some shallow unsharp part of my desk I saw it appearing on my Kinemon. So I suppose it’ll be present on these 2. I changed aperture settings one step to check at what aperture settings it…[Read more]
Hi Steven and Gualbert,
I don’t own a Mavo yet but I am really close to placing an order.
So first thanks for sharing your findings and the footage, it is rather concerning, as shooting oversampled 4K is what I woud do a lot as well.
I looked at your files in Davinci Resolve on my HD grading monitor and on an UHD OLED, the banding in your UHD…[Read more]
I’m closing down on it … I’ve found this article, nothing but love about the Mavo LF but at the end he touches my concern.
“It hasn’t been all roses since using the Mavo. I realized after this shoot that something wasn’t exactly right with it in the low light. I experienced a little bit too much FPN in the shadows. After consulting with my dea…[Read more]
Ok, I uploaded a complete Mavo LF footage folder to Dropbox (link below). 16sec of footage while setting up the camera when rehearsal was going on. This shot was filmed at 4K, when I started shooting after, I changed it to HD. Anyways banding is the same at 4K, take a close look at the left corner … the banding gets worse (more noticeable)…[Read more]
Here are 2 short videos I did when I just received the camera, using a 50 mm Canon EF 1.2 (I was just recovering from a surgery so all is filmed straight out of bed at my parents house)
Password = azerty (both)

So, I own a Mavo LF since a few months now. I’ve been searching for some info on this matter for a few weeks but I can’t find anyone who had the same experience. Most of the time the footage is great & I love working with the Mavo LF. But there have been a few times that we noticed a big problem. I’ve included these 2 screenshots to show you what…[Read more]
I have been considering purchasing a mavo and had the pleasure of trying out the mavo lf in melbourne.
I filled a samsung pro ssd with footage which i will look at when i get home from my travels. I am leaning strongly towards the 6k 35mm mavo as it suits the work i do. I like the camera though i can see that it is a work in progress. I…[Read more]
Been wanting to get the Terra 4k due to its compact size and an array of frame rates. Currently, I own an Ursa Mini 4.6k and Pocket4K, all rigged out. However, the Ursa is a bit of a big beast and pretty terrible when shooting anything at iso800 or above. My questions are as follows:
1) Does the Terra allow for the use of third party monitors? I…[Read more]
Hello Kine Family,
My name is Calvin and I’m ready to pull the trigger on the Mavo S35. I was looking at the MavoLF and to be honest I’m still not sure, but at the Mavo S35 and Mavo LF kits, is the kineback worth getting? considering that I don’t record sound in camera and I can power the camera from the handle. Is the Kineback worth getting?
Newb alert. I just got my new MAVO LF out of the box and have spent the day testing codecs/frame sizes etc. All great so far.
I want to ask a bit of a stupid question about downsampling. If I select S35 or M34 in the menu does that mean I’m not using the whole of the sensors potential?
I read on the ProAV website that the MAVO LF does “glorious”…[Read more]
