Hey Raafi, Oversampling is actually a quite interesting procedure as you already noticed.
A Bayern sensor bit depth is very hard to understand. For luminance we founded the log curve, most cameras dont have higher adc than 12 bit which basically doesn’t lead to a higher patch range than 14-15 and effective dr of 11.8 or something with a proper…[Read more]

Jerome GafpaGear replied to the topic lowlight issue. noise/ lines in the forum Announcement/Updates 2 years, 11 months ago
Hey just checking in here ( alittle late) FOR SCANNING lines I advice to do a blackbalance, most of the lines will dissapear, if not, your sensor might need a recalibration. If you ever run into thes issues report them in our Kinefinity camera service fb, with a little downloadable clip and a slate file and we will check if its normal or if it…[Read more]

Jerome GafpaGear replied to the topic LUTS for Kinefinity in the forum Kinefinity™ General 2 years, 11 months ago
Hey Raafi, in your example of changing the hs sensativity, you could also dialed in a other lut which pushes the images brighter, so you would close down your aperture to compensate for the increasement in the mid. By doing so you would ettl, but without the fuzz of dialing in hs in the menu, and without the fuzz f the image degradation which…[Read more]

Jerome GafpaGear replied to the topic ISO / Highlight Settings (Noise Levels) Mavo LF in the forum Announcement/Updates 2 years, 11 months ago
Not to spoil anyones party 🙂 But I would anyone endorse to keep the HS on the factory setting and only use ntive isos. Its simply the best DR , If you want to map your hightlights vs shadows differently either use cine ei, or my ETTL luts. The HS setting is a designer mode, which basically ramps down the analogue gain (iso)( and pushes the…[Read more]

Jerome GafpaGear replied to the topic KineMON-5U Ultra-Bright Monitor vs Third-party in the forum Kinefinity™ General 2 years, 11 months ago
Hey the Kinemon5u has a very low power consumption and can be used in bright daylight, it only uses one cable (both power and video), it barely gets hot, and is only 15 wh. The good thing about the cable is that its LEMO so extremely durable, so no fiddling with hdmi, or broken sdi cables. Besides that using this ‘data cable’ means that latency…[Read more]

Jerome GafpaGear replied to the topic Prores 4444 banding in the forum Kinefinity™ General 2 years, 11 months ago
Hey Raafi, old bottle new wine 🙂 I would say use ettl luts, because highlight setting, is a fake setting and doesnt yield the same results as keeping them default and simply ettl, with exposure luts. But yes I agree, theres no banding, in the footage theres just some clipping happening, Theres maybe a total of 6 stops dr in this scene, so you…[Read more]

Hey Guys, not to spoil this RAW party! But lets be real there are no image quality advantages over Prores444 when working with raw. The only thing that Raw does about raw is being smaller potentially than prores444 while staying around the ‘visual losless’ mark. Another downside is that you cannot downsample raw in camera (yes the sigma FP d…[Read more]
