My ultimate goal with the kinemini is to keep the rig a as small as possible and I’ve been researching on power solutions for a while now and my final thoughts were that I’m just gonna give up and go with the extreme amount of the 18650 batteries but then the atomos came out with this new power station
I already wrote it in another topic but here it comes again: these aliasing on 120fps footage and moire effect come not from the camera (KRW converted to Cineform is clean) but probably from DaVinci Resolve…. I’ll ask Tomasz from FilmCyfrowy to write more about this issue.
Hey, j_szczygiel! That would be great if we can…[Read more]
Hi Nonas, I haven’t seen any footage at 96fps at 2K, but there is this video from a KineMINI user at 92fps at 2k:
There is also this one shot at 120fps, not 2k, but it should have the same effect:
Aliasing & moire is definitely prominent, but I think Kinefinity might be able to improve that…[Read more]
More kinestation questions, so my footage still converts at 25fps regardless of settings in the camera.
But also kinestation doesnt combine the audio files with the footage when converting to cineform.
Anyone else experience this?
Hey Rob, did you solve this issue? Not seen any other reported cases of it, so wondered…[Read more]
SSD SanDisk Extreme Pro 460 Go works perfectly.
imagetemps, do you mean the Extreme Pro 480gb? I can’t find an Extreme Pro 460. Just for clarification before I add it to the list. 🙂
Hi im Going to buy the kinemini in octuber, im seeing the crucial m550 1 tb , do you guns think it could work with the camera?
Hey Walterarial, While I don’t have my camera yet, or that specific card to test it, I would take an educated guess and say yes it will work.
My reasoning for this is that it has the same specs…[Read more]
Don’t see a way to PM on this board.
Hi throwcomputer, I have now enabled PMs for you. Simply click on a users name to go to their profile & select Send private message. 🙂
This is great, with the altered ‘improved’ colour science of the KineMINI 4K, I wonder what he’d say now. 😀
Hmmm, yes there does seem to be a lot of aliasing. Is this just as visible at other ‘lower’ HiSpeed frame rates (96fps, 75fps) etc?
I don’t believe so. I am just aware that grading KineMINI footage in Resolve can be quite a pain at the minute due to having to apply two LUTs and the way Resolve handles LUTs is quite unintuitive. I believe they are (kinefinity & blackmagic) both working on a solution for it though no official word on that.
In the case of the codecs though, they…[Read more]
I think Denver Riddle’s resource from Color Grading Central is also a good catch.
It’s already in there Jason, but yes it is a great resource 🙂
That is great, thanks FilmCyfrowy! 4k cineform is also good news! Are you applying the LUTs via Speedgrade?
The Tilta actually looks pretty good, I might go for it depending on how it get on the with Lanparte one I have.
What battery is that FilmCyfrowy?
Hey Rob, yea it makes much more sense having it in the Accessories section. I am also going to move everything from the Issues & questions section to the general section as I believe it will…[Read more]
These should all be fine, I have the same monitor (only HDMI version). I opted for a Lanparte slim battery plate along with a rolux 160wh battery (should last around 7 – 11 hrs, depending on shooting mode etc). But the ones you have selected should suit your needs.
As for the follow focus, I am not sure. I have been looking at the Silencer Pro…[Read more]
Hey Timetraveller, personally I went for the HDMI option. My reasoning for that was due to the fact that the output through HDMI/3G isn’t ‘clean’ meaning you cant use the output to record to an atomos or similar, and both only output a max of 1080p (no 4k). In terms of monitoring, there are 2x HDMI’s in which I’ll mainly only use one monitor…[Read more]
In regards to SSD compatiblity I can tell you that people have successfully used the following SSD’s with no reported issues:
-SanDisk Extreme II
-Samsung 840 Pro SSD (and probably the 850 pro SSD, which is out this month)
-OWC 6G SSD
I am willing to bet that there are many more brands of SSD’s which work fine with the camera. I’d even go as far…[Read more]
Hey Rob, the download link on your previous post is giving me a ‘page not found error’.
That would be awesome Rob :). I look forward to seeing it!
